31st May

North Uist: Snowy Owl Grenitote. Pectoral Sandpiper at Balranald plus male Garganey, 1st summer Iceland Gull and House Martin. Curlew Sandpiper at Loch Paible.

South Uist: 1st yr Glaucous Gull Ardvule. Grasshopper Warbler singing at road junction for Pollachar and Ludag. Rose-coloured Starling Peninerine. Adult Iceland Gull in Eriskay harbour.

30th May

St. Kilda: Dark-eyed Junco reported singing and possibly present since the weekend.

North Uist: Snowy Owl at Grenitote today. flava wagtail, probably Grey-headed at Balelone Farm this morning.

South Uist: 1st summer Glaucous Gull Ardvule. Tree Pipit singing North Loch Eynort.

29th May

North Uist: Adult Glaucous Gull and 1st summer Iceland Gull Aird an Runair.

South Uist: Rosy Starling seen at Aird Micheal this morning. Wood Pigeon at Grogarry Lodge.

28th May

North Uist: male Snowy Owl Aird an Runair. Little Stint Loch Paible. Siskin Griminish.

South Uist: Spotted Flycatcher and Blackcap South Glendale.

27th May

Lewis: Probable 3rd summer Yellow-legged Gull Loch Branahuie.

Harris: Curlew Sandpiper Northton.

North Uist: At least 5 Curlew Sandpipers and a Little Stint Loch Paible.

South Uist: Grasshopper Warbler heard singing close to Polachar / Ludag junction early hours of the morning.

Barra: Whitethroat and 5 Siskin North Bay. Blackcap and Redwing Ardmor.

26th May

North Uist: Snowy Owl Balranald (apparently seen to fly towards St. Kilda). At least 2 Curlew Sandpipers and a Little Stint Loch Paible.

South Uist: Rose-coloured Starling Peninerine.

Barra: Blackap and Whitethroat still present.

25th May

North Uist: 27 Pomarine Skuas and 7 Long-tailed Skuas north passed Aird an Runair. 1st summer Glaucous Gull at Paiblesgarry. 3 Curlew Sandpipers and Little Stint Loch Paible.

South Uist: 5 Long-tailed Skuas and 4 Pomarine Skuas passed Ardvule. Rose-coloured Starling Peninerine.

Barra: male Blackcap Ardmor, male Whitethroat Brehvig, Sand Martin Loch Tangusdale, Common Redpoll Castle Bay.

St. Kilda: female Snowy Owl.

North Uist: 46 Pomarine Skuas and 19 Long-tailed Skuas north passed Aird an Runair (07:15 - 12:15). Plus 3 more Poms in the evening.

South Uist: Rose-coloured Starling Peninerine.

North Uist: Summer plumaged Grey Phalarope Aird an Runair plus 19 Pomarine Skuas and 37 Long-tailed Skuas. Snowy Owl Grenitote.

South Uist: Rose-coloured Starling Peninerine.

22nd May

North Uist: Snowy Owl at Grenitote. 90 Pomarine Skuas, 25 Long-tailed Skuas  Aird an Runair (06:15 - 13:00). Plus 20 more Poms in the evening and 10 Long-tailed Skuas seen by others in the area.

Benbecula: 3 Long-tailed Skuas along coastline Stinky Bay (09:10)

South Uist: 31 Pomarine Skuas passed Ardvule (06:20 - 11:30).

Lewis: 17 Pomarine Skuas passed Mangustadh.

21st May

Lewis: American Herring Gull Stornoway harbour.

North Uist: male Snowy Owl at Grenitote. Rose-coloured Starling at Lochmaddy

Nb. There was a message today from Jason Cocker saying that he and two friends had seen a 1st summer Whiskered Tern for around 5 minutes off Aird an Runair on 17th before it flew off north.

20th May

Lewis: 2 x 2nd cy White-billed Diver reported off Skigersta. 2nd cy American Herring Gull Stornoway harbour.

South Uist: Black Tern off Ardvule this morning for around 5 minutes plus 4 Pomarine Skuas early on. 1st yr Iceland Gull on Grogarry machair. Curlew Sandpiper off Balgarva.

North Uist: Snowy Owl at Grenitote. 65 Pomarine Skuas, 3 Long-tailed Skuas, 2 Storm Petrels and 1 Leach's Petrel off Aird an Runair (06:00-11:00). Curlew Sandpiper over Sollas machair.

19th May

South Uist: 119 Pomarine Skuas north passed Ardvule (06:30 - 14:00), plus 4 Arctic Skuas and 3 Bonxies. Another 56 Pomarine Skuas and 6 Long-tailed Skuas passed Ardvule (15:45 - 18:15). Rosy Starling still at Peninerine plus 1st yr Iceland Gull and 17 Poms this morning.

Benbecula: 6 Pomarine Skuas along the shoreline at Stinky Bay (08:50). 3 Poms seen over Loch Mor.

North Uist: 117 Long-tailed Skuas, 167 Pomarine Skuas and 5 Leach's Petrels, 1 Storm Petrel past Aird an Runair (06:00 - 12:30 then 17:00 - 21:00). 2 1st yr Glaucous Gulls Port Scolpaig, Balranald. 21 Poms high over the Committee Road (18:00).

Lewis: 1st yr American Herring Gull Stornoway harbour. 262 Pomarine Skuas and 16 Long-tailed Skuas past Mangustadh (06:00 - 18:00).

18th May

North Uist: 336 Long-tailed Skuas (largest flock of 70), 234 Pomarine Skuas and 45 Arctic Skuas north passed Aird an Runair (06:00 - 16:00)

South Uist: Rosy Starling still at Peninerine plus 1st yr Iceland Gull.

Lewis: Iceland Gull Loch Barvas.

North Uist: 94 Long-tailed Skuas and 24 Pomarine Skuas north passed Aird an Runair (14:00 - 21:00)

South Uist: Rose-coloured Starling at Peninerine (present for at least its second day now) plus 1st yr Iceland Gull there this evening.

St. Kilda: Snowy Owl

Lewis: Curlew Sandpiper Loch Stiapavat.

South Uist: Spotted Crake heard calling from the reedy, Loch an Duin Mhor near Balgarva.
