31st January:
Benbecula: The Little Egret was at Gramsdale this afternoon.
30th January:
North Ust: A Little Egret flew over the main road, heading west just south of Grimsay this afternoon. A Long-tailed Tit was at Claddach Kirkibost.
29th January:
North Uist: A 2nd winter Ring-billed Gull was reported from the north end of Berneray today. The Snow Goose was at Sollas.
Benbecula: The drake Ring-necked Duck was on Coot Loch.
South Uist: The female Lesser Scaup and 3 immature female Velvet Scoters were on West Loch Ollay. 2 immature female Velvet Scoters were on Loch Eynort. 5 Scaup and 8 Black-tailed Godwits were on west Loch Bee. 4 Black-tailed Godwits were at Loch Ardvule.
Barra: 2 immature Velvet Scoters were off Castlebay this afternoon.
Marine Sightings: 2 bull Oracs were seen heading north off Tiumpan Head this morning.
28th January:
Lewis: The drake Ring-necked Duck is still on Loch Tiumpan.
27th January:
North Uist: A Long-tailed Tit was at Claddach Kirkibost this morning.
26th January:
Lewis: The drake Ring-necked Duck was on Loch Tiumpan.
North Uist: The Snow Goose was opposite the co-op in Sollas again this afternoon.
South Uist: An adult Glaucous Gull was seen at Ardvule.

25th January:
North Uist: 4 Long-tailed Tits were in Carinish still.
Barra: A drake Green-winged Teal was still at Ardmhor, 2 Velvet Scoters were still east of Vatersay causeway. A Long-tailed Tit and Treecreeper were at Northbay.
24th January:
North Uist: 3 Little Auks, 13 Razorbills, 11 Gannets, 5 Fulmars, 240 Kittiwakes, 6 Eiders, 6 Long-tailed Ducks, a Red-throated Diver, Great Nrthern Diver and a Bar-tailed Godwit flew west past Griminish Point (10:15 - 12:15). An immature Velvet Scoter and 4 Common Scoters were off Hougharry.
Benbecula: The drake Ring-necked Duck was on Coot Loch.

22nd January:
Lewis: The drake Ring-necked Duck was on Loch Tiumpan.
North Uist: The Snow Goose was with Barnacle Geese opposite Sollas co-op. 4 Long-tailed Tits were in Carinish.
Benbecula: A drake Ring-necked Duck was on Coot Loch.
Suoth Uist: A Rook was at Carnan.
21st January:
Lewis: A juvenile Iceland Gull was at Loch Ordais. A juvenile Glaucous Gull was in Stornoway harbour. The drake Ring-necked Duck was at Loch Tiumpan.
North Uist: A Snow Bunting was on Baleshare, by the flood to the south of the coastal car park. 4 Long-tailed Tits were in Carinish.
20th January:
Harris: 3 Snow Buntings were on the bealach along the B887 just before Miavaig today. An adult Glaucous Gull was at Bunavonaeder.
North Uist: An adult Glaucous Gull flew round the headland of Aird an Runair late morning. An immature Velvet Scoter and 2 Common Scoters were off Hougharry.
19th January:
Barra: The Kingfisher was seen in Northbay.
17th January:
Benbecula: A Little Egret flew south over the North Ford causeway.
16th January:
Barra: 2 Green-winged Teals were at Ardmhor today.
14th January:
Barra: The Little Gull was at Eoligarry again this morning. The drake Green-winged Teal was at Ardmhor.
13th January:
Lewis: A Little Auk was seen off the Butt.
South Uist: A female Ring-necked Duck and 4 Scaup were on Loch Bee (west side); and the male Ring-necked Duck was east of the causeway on Loch Bee. 13 Black-tailed Godwits were along the west shore of Loch Bee. A Black-tailed Godwit was at Ardivachar. 6 Snow Buntings were on the shore between Daliburgh and Frobost.
Barra: A Little Gull was at Eoligarry. 2 Velvet Scoters were east of Vatersay.
Ring-necked Duck (Steve Duffield)
12th January:
Lewis: The drake Ring-necked Duck was on Loch Tiumpan. An adult Iceland Gull was in Stronoway harbour.
11th January:
North Uist: A single Snow Bunting was on Baleshare today.
10th January:
Lewis: 9 Snow Buntings flew towards Eoropie. The drake Ring-necked Duck was on Loch Tiumpan.
South Uist: The drake Ring-necked Duck was seen on Loch Bee, east of the causeway. A Jack Snipe was at the east end of Loch Ardvule.
Slavonian Grebe (Steve Duffield)
9th January:
North Uist: A drake Green-winged Teal was on Loch Sgaraigh, Balranald today.
8th January:
Barra: A drake Green-winged Teal was at Ardmhor.
7th January:
North Uist: The Snow Goose was in Malaclate today.
South Uist: The female Lesser Scaup and a Velvet Scoter were on Loch Bornish. 3 Velvet Scoters and a Green-winged Teal were on West Loch Ollay. The Little Egret was at Loch Tornish. 100 Greenland White-fronted Geese were on the west side of Loch Bee. 5 Scaup were also on Loch Bee. A Snow Bunting was on Eochar machair.
Barra: A Velvet Scoter and 14 Common Scoters were on the east side of Vatersay.
Marine Sightings: 30 - 40 Common Dolphins were seen off Tiumpan Head this morning. Common Dolphin, White-beaked Dolphin and Harbour Porpoise were also seen off Port of Ness. A Harbour Porpoise was off Balgarva.
6th January:
North Uist: The Snow Goose was in Sollas today. 2 Glaucous Gulls (an adult and a juvenile) and 2 Iceland Gulls (3rd winter and a juvenile) were between Balemore and Rubh' Arnal. At least 5 Long-tailed Tits are still in Carinish.
South Uist: The drake Ring-necked Duck was on Loch Bee, east of the causeway.
Barra: A Green-winged Teal was at Ardmhor.
5th January:
North Uist: The juvenile Glaucous Gull was still along the shore at Carinish.
South Uist: The female Lesser Scaup was on Loch Bornish and a Little Egret was nearby on Loch Tornish. The drake Ring-necked Duck was still on Loch Bee, east of the causeway. 2 Velvet Scoters were at Loch Eynort.
Barra: The Kingfisher was near the church in Northbay this morning.
4th January:
Lewis: A juvenile Glaucous Gull flew over tha harbour at Port of Ness in the afternoon.
North Uist: A juvenile Glaucous Gull was along the shoreline in Carinish.
South Uist: The female Lesser Scaup and 4 Velvet Scoters were on Loch Bornish. 10 Black-tailed Godwits were at Loch Ardvule. 4 Long-tailed Tits were at North Loch Eynort. A drake Ring-necked Duck and 1st yr male Scaup were east of the Loch Bee causeway.
3rd January:
Lewis: The drake Ring-necked Duck was on Loch Tiumpan. A Waxwing was reported from Urquhart Gardens, Stornoway.
North Uist: A juvenile Glaucous Gull was at Balranald. At least 11 Pintail were on Loch nam Feithean and 3 Pink-footed Geese were at Loch Grogarry.
South Uist: A drake Green-winged Teal was on the Howmore River. The female Lesser Scaup was on Loch Bornish. The Velvet Scoter was on Loch Ardvule and 10 Black-tailed Godwits were in the area. A Little Egret was in Bornish.
Barra: 4 Long-tailed Tits were in Castlebay today.
2nd January:
Lewis: The drake Ring-necked Duck was on Loch Tiumpan.
1st January:
North Uist: The Snow Goose was still at Sollas this morning.
South Uist: The female Lesser Scaup was on Loch Bornish.
Barra: 8 Snow Buntings were along the beach at Eoilgarry; whilst 4 Rooks and a Carrion Crow were nearby.
Marine Sightings: 35 Common Dolphins headed south off Tiumpan Head this morning.
