28th June:

North Uist: A Swift flew east over Kallin, Grimsay today.

South Uist: The 1st summer Glaucous Gull was at Ardivachar.

 

27th June:

North Uist: 2 Curlew Sandpipers were at Loch Paible.

 

26th June:

Lewis: A Quail was calling near Stornoway airport. 3 Quail were calling from the Port of Ness area.

North Uist: A Curlew Sandpiper was at Loch Paible.

 

25th June:

North Uist: A Curlew Sandpiper was at Loch Paible this morning.

Benbecula: A Sandwich Tern was in Stinky Bay.

Insects: A Peach Blossom was trapped in South Glendale last night.

24th June:

North Uist: A Buff-breasted Sandpiper, 4 Curlew Sandpipers and 3 Black-tailed Godwits were at the southern end of Loch Paible this afternoon; also a 1st summrt Glaucous Gull there in the evening.

South Uist: The 1st summer Glaucous Gull was at Ardivachar. 4 Black-tailed Godwits were at Loch an't-Saile.

23rd June:

South Uist: A 1st summer Glaucous Gull was at Ardivachar.

 

22nd June:

Lewis: 3 Quails were heard calling around Port of Ness.

St. Kilda: The 1st summer Iceland Gull is still present.

South Uist: 2 Swifts flew south at Pollochar.

Marine Sightings: At least 6 Minke Whales were seen from the ferries between Lochmaddy - Uig - Tarbet. 20 White-beaked Dolphins were seen off Port of Ness.

 

21st June:

Lewis: A Quail was heard calling around at Adabrock, Port of Ness.

South Uist: 3 Black-tailed Godwits were at Ardivachar.

 

20th June:

Lewis: A Quail was heard on the moor to the south of Habost at NB 526 614.

South Uist: A male Whinchat is still singing at the junction to Loch Eynort at Ormiclate.

 

18th June:

Lewis: 2 Swifts were at North Dell.

North Uist: A Quail was heard calling 300 yards east of the Balranald visitor centre.

Benbecula: An Iceland Gull was in Stinky Bay.

 

17th June:

Harris: A Common Rosefinch was at Govig.

North Uist: 2 Swifts were seen over Berneray.

 

16th June:

Harris: A Wood Sandpiper was seen at Reinigeadal today.

Benbecula: A 2nd cal yr Iceland Gull was in Stinky Bay.

South Uist: A 2nd cal yr Mediterranean Gull was at Ardvule. A male Whinchat was singing at the road end (Ormiclate) Loch Eynort.

15th June:

Lewis: A Quail was heard at Bragar.

North Uist: A Woodchat Shrike was at Langass Wood today.

14th June:

South Uist: A Glaucous Gull was at the north end of Loch Bornish.

 

13th June:

Lewis: A Quail was calling in Port of Ness.

 

8th June:

Lewis: A Woodchat Shrike was seen this afternoon between Habost and Cross.

 

7th June:

Lewis: An apparent Barolo Shearwater was seen off Labost today.

 

5th June:

Barra: A female Red-backed Shrike was at Nask.

 

4th June:

North Uist: A Curlew Sandpiper was seen along the beach at Traigh Iar, Sollas.

Benbecula: A female Garganey was at Coot Loch this afternoon.

 

2nd June:

North Uist: A Honey Buzzard flew east over Cheese Bay.

 

1st June:

North Uist: The American Golden Plover and Iceland Gull were both seen at Balemore today.

Benbecula: 3 House Martins were at Coot Loch this morning.

South Uist: A Spotted Crake was heard calling at Eochar last night. A Golden Oriole was heard at Loch Druidibeg.
