31st October:
North Uist: A Lapland Bunting was at Rubh' Arnal. A juvenile Glaucous Gull was at Kyles Paible.
30th October:
Lewis: 7 Crossbills and 4 Coal Tits were in Aline plantation. A Hawfinch was still in Urquahart Gardens, Stornoway; also a Blackcap and 2 Bramblngs.
North Uist: 2 Lapland Buntings were on the machair at Paiblesgarry. At least 6 Pintail were on Loch nam Feithean. A Chiffchaff was at Callernish House. 2 Snow Buntings were at Balranald.
29th October:
South Uist: A juvenile Iceland Gull and a Snow Bunting were at Ardivachar.
28th October:
Lewis: At least 2 Hawfinch and a Blackcap were in Urquhart Gardens, Stornoway today.
North Uist: A juvenile Glaucous Gull and a Snow Bunting were at Port Scolpaig, Balranald.
South Uist: A Pectoral Sandpiper was at Balgarva this afternoon.
Barra: A Hawfinch, a Willow Warbler and 3 Siberian Chiffchaffs were seen on the island today.

27th October:
North Uist: A Crossbill was in Langass Wood. A male Snow Bunting was along the track to Aird an Runair, Balranald.
South Uist: An American Golden Plover was reported at Eochar this afternoon.
Barra: A Hawfinch and Siberian Chiffchaff were at Gleann. A Siberian Chiffchaff was at Creachan. 50 Brent Geese were at Traigh Mhor.

26th October:
Lewis: 2 Hawfinch were seen in Urquhart Gardens, Stornoway; also 3 Bramblings and a Grey Wagtail. A Common Rosefinch was in Port of Ness late morning before flying off to the south-west; also a Crossbill flew over.
Harris: 3 male Goosanders were seen at Bunanavoneadar today.
North Uist: The pair of Cackling Geese were at Balranald this morning. A Barred Warbler was in Grenitote. An immature Scaup was on Loch Sandary. A Lesser Yellowlegs was reported from Hougharry.
Barra: The Red-flanked Bluetail is still at Creachan. A juvenile Iceland Gull, a juvenile and 2nd winter Glaucous Gull; as well as 30 Brent Geese were at Traigh Mhor. A Siberian Chiffchaff was at Gleann and another was in Creachan.

25th October:
South Uist: Birds flying south at Ardvule included 28 Gannets, 14 Red-throated Divers, 46 Great Northern Divers, 1 Black-throated Diver, 3 Auks sp., 1 Guillemot, 1 Black Guillemot, 6 Long-tailed Duck, 2 Eider and a Golden Plover in off sea. A Brambling was in South Glendale.
Barra: The Red-flanked Bluetail is still at Creachan. A Treecreeper and 2 Siberian Chiffchaffs were in Castlebay. A Red-necked Grebe was off Bruernish.

24th October:
Lewis: A Blue Tit was in Barvas this morning.
South Uist: A Pectoral Sandpiper is in with Golden Plover at Ormiclate. The Glaucous Gull was at Ardvule. 75 Gannets, 18 Great Northern Divers, 13 Red-throated Divers, 24 Razorbills, 11 Black Guillemots, 4 Long-tailed Ducks and 5 Kittiwakes also flew south off Ardvule this morning.
Barra: The Red-flanked Bluetail is still at Creachan. A Hawfinch, 2 Siberian Chiffchaffs and 2 Chiffchaff are in Gleann.

23rd October:
Lewis: A Carrion Crow was at Traigh Mhor.
North Uist: The pair of Cackling Geese were at Loch Paible this morning. 2 Blackcaps were at Callernish House.
South Uist: A juvenile Glaucous Gull flew south at Ardvule; also 291 Gannets, 5 Great Northern Divers, 7 Red-throated Divers, 1 Black Guillemot, 1 Guillemot, 5 Razorbills, 4 Long-tailed Duck and 53 Kittiwakes.
Barra: The Red-flanked Bluetail is still at Creachan. 2 Hawfinch, a Yellow-browed Warbler and 2 Siberian Chiffchaffs were at Gleann.

22nd October:
Lewis: A Fieldfare was seen at Upper Aird, Point today. 2 Goldeneye flew over whilst a Water Rail and Chiffchaff were in Port of Ness. A Yellow-browed Warbler, 6 Long-tailed Tits, a Chiffchaff and Blackcap were in South Dell.
St. Kilda: A Bluethroat was on Hirta.
North Uist: Large numbers of Redwings are in the islands. At least 16 Fieldfare were in Carinish this morning.
South Uist: A Yellow-browed Warbler, Willow Warbler, Chiffchaff, male Crossbill and at least 12 Fieldfare were at Druidibeg; also 2 Woodcoks. A Pied Flycatcher and Chiffchaff were at Kinloch, Grogarry. A female Scaup, 4 Pink-footed Geese and 33 Whooper Swans were at the south end of Loch Bee. 7 Pink-footed Geese were at Ardivachar. 24 Whooper Swans flew south at South Glendale this morning; also 170 Redwings, 2 Fieldfare, a Blackcap and 2 Bramblings were present. 4 Fieldfare, 3 Bramblings, 2 Blackcaps and a Chiffchaff were in Bornish. The juvenile American Golden Plover was seen at LA2 this morning.
Barra: The Red-flanked Bluetail was at Creachan. A Hawfinch was at Gleann this morning and a Siberian Chiffchaff was at Sgaillairaidh.
Marine Sightings: 30 Common Dolphins, a Bottle-nosed Dolphin and 10 White-beaked Dolphins were seen off port of Ness.

21st October:
Lewis: A Redstart, Blackcap and Spotted Flycatcher were in Port of Ness. The Wood Warbler was still in Port of Ness. 35 Pink-footed Geese were in Eoropie.
South Uist: A mixed flock of 80 Pink-footed Geese and 9 Barnacle Geese flew north at South Glendale at 15:40.
20th October:
Lewis: A Wood Warbler, Blackcap and Ring Ouzel were in South Dell. 2 Sooty Shearwaters flew west past the Butt.
North Uist: 5 Bramblings were at Langass Lodge.
Barra: The Red-flanked Bluetail is still at Creachan. A Hawfinch was at Gleann and a Siberian Chiffchaff was in Castlebay. A Waxwing flew south over Brevig.
19th October:
North Uist: 18 Crossbills, a Chiffchaff, Blackcap and Brambling were at Langass Lodge. A Rose-coloured Starling was reported from Strumore, Lochmaddy.
South Uist: The Great Crested Grebe is still off Balgarva.
Barra: The Red-flanked Bluetail is still at Creachan; also a Hawfinch briefly. A Yellow-browed Warbler, a Lesser Whitethroat and a Siberian Chiffchaff are at Gleann. A Mistle Thrush flew south at Castlebay this morning and 2 Siberian Chiffchaffs were there. A Yellow-browed Warbler was at Cuithir. 125 Fieldfare and 40 Bramblings were also on the island.
18th October:
Lewis: A Long-tailed Skua, 3 Pomarine Skuas, 10+ Arctic Skuas, lots of Bonxies and 3 Sooty Shearwaters were seen from Tiumpan Head.
North Uist: The Barred Warbler was at Langass Lodge.
South Uist: The Pectoral Sandpiper was at LA2. The Great Crested Grebe was off Balgarva. 2 Blackcaps, a Chiffchaff, 10 Bramblings and 20 Fieldfare were in Bornish. A Yellow-browed Warbler, 2 Chiffchaffs, 2 Blackcaps and 4 Siskins were at Loch Eynort. 3 Blakcaps, a Siberian-type Chiffchaff, Lesser Whitethroat and 6 Brmablings were at Snishival.
Barra:The Red-flanked Bluetail is still at Creachan; also 2 Hawfinch and a Treecreeper there. Another Hawfinch was in Castlebay. A Lesser Whitethroat was at Nasg.
Marine Sightings: 2 Humpback Whales, a Fin Whale and 3 Minke Whales were seen off Tiumpan Head during the day; also numerous White-beaked Dolphins, Common Dolphin, Risso's Dolphins and 8 - 10 Blue-fin Tuna (the latter hunting off the lighthouse for much of the day)

17th October:
Lewis: A Treecreeper, Hawfinch and Lesser Whitethroat were in Port of Ness. A Yellow-browed Warbler, Chiffchaff, Blackcap and 6 Long-tailed Tits were in South Dell; also 2,000+ Redwings around the area.
North Uist: A Barred Warbler, Yellow-browed Warbler, Chiffchaff, Blackcap and 3 Bramblings were at Langass Lodge; also 14 Barnacle Geese heading east there. A Water Rail was in Lochmaddy. 4 Blue-winged Teal were on Loch na Paisg, Baleshare. A Pied Flycatcher was at Clachan Farm.
South Uist: The Pectoral Sandpiper was at LA2 on the Range again today. 25 Fieldfare dropped in at South Glendale this morning. 15 Lapland Buntings were at Kilaulay / Ardivachar. The Great Crested Grebe was still off Balgarva. A Ring Ouzel, 20 Fieldfare and 70 Redwngs were in the Howmore / Howbeg area this morning. A Yellow-browed warbler, 2 goldcrest, 3 blackcap, chiffchaff, 8 fieldfare, 60 redwing and 8 Bramblings were in Bornish this morning,
Barra: A Red-flanked Bluetail is at Creachan.

16th October:
Lewis: A Barred Warbler was seen in Port of Ness; also a Hawfinch opposite the cafe late afternoon. A Hawfinch was also seen at Eoropie. 3 Long-tailed Tits were in South Dell. 3 Jack Snipe were at the Butt. 2 Sooty Shearwaters were off Tiumpan Head.
North Uist: At least 14 Lapland Buntings were between Rubh' Arnal and Balemore; also 6 Brent Geese at Rubh' Arnal. 34 Fieldfare were at Balemore although 28 flew off high south. A Mistle Thrush and Blackcap were at Claddach Vallay. A Blackcap was in Carinish.
South Uist: A Lapland Bunting was seen at Ardvule. 4 Crossbills were at Druidibeg. The Pectoral Sandpiper and Ruff were on the Range at LA2. A Snow Bunting was seen near Hebridean Jewellery. The Iceland Gull was seen on the loch opposite Kinloch at Grogarry this morning.
Barra: A Hawfinch was seen at Creachan brielfy; also a Siberian Chiffchaff, 3 Yellow-browed Warblers and a Pied Flycatcher.
Marine Sightings: 2 Orcas were seen off Tiumpan Head as well as 3 pods of Risso's Dolphins, many Common Dolphins and a Blue-fin Tuna.

15th October:
Lewis: A Hawfinch and 10 Bramblings were seen at Achmore.
North Uist: A Willow Warbler and 30 Fieldfare were seen in Grenitote.
Benbecula: A Yellow-browed Warbler was in Torlum; also 38 Barnacle Geese flew south there this morning. A Swallow was at Borve Point briefly.
South Uist: The Great Crested Grebe is still off Balgarva. The Iceland Gull was back at Kinloch, Grogarry. A Siberian Chiffchaff was at North Loch Eynort. A Yellow-browed Warbler, Chiffchaff, Blackcap and 8 Fieldfare were seen on Bornish today.
Insects: 7 Brindled Ochre, 2 Angle Shades, 13 Small Wainscot, 1 Red Sword-grass and a Narrow-winged Pug were caught in South Glendale last night.

14th October:
North Uist: The 2 Cackling Geese were on Loch Paible this morning and 2 Lapland Buntings were just to the south. 15 Lapland Buntings were on the Udal; also a Pink-footed Goose there. A juvenile Iceland Gull was at Loch Sandary. A Yellow-browd Warbler was at Paiblesgarry.
South Uist: 20 Fieldfare were at Druidibeg this morning before flying off to the south-west. A Yellow-browed Warbler, Chiffchaff, Blackcap and 3 Bramblings were in Bornish.
Barra: 4 Siberian Chiffchaffs were seen on the island; also a Treecreeper and an influx of Fieldfare and Bramblings.

Cackling Geese and Barnacle Geese (Steve Duffield); Corn Bunting, Knot, Long-tailed Duck and Wheatear (Alan Kennedy)
13th October:
Lewis: 2 Yellow-browed Warblers, 2 Goldcrests, 2 Blackcaps and a Spotted Flycatcher were in Port of Ness. 1,400 Fulmars, a Sooty Shearwater, 4 Manx Shearwaters and 2 Bonxies were seen from the Butt. A juvenile Iceland Gull was at Eoropie.
North Uist: 70 Barnacle Geese flew south over Carinish this morning. A Yellow-browed Warbler was at Borve, Berneray. A Yellow-browed Warbler was seen in Cheese Bay. A Yellow-browed Warbler was in Lochmaddy. The Little Egret was at Trumisgarry.
South Uist: 33 Barnacle Geese were at Howmore beach. The Pectoral Sandpiper was on the Range at LA2 this afternoon.
Barra: 22 Yellow-browed Warblers were on the island today.
Insects: Moths on Buddleia in South Glendale last night at 10:30 pm were 2 Angle Shades and singles of Dark Sword-grass and Red Sword-grass

12th October:
Lewis: 5 Sooty Shearwaters flew west past the Butt. A Reed Warbler was in Willowglen, Stornoway near the Porter's Lodge.
North Uist: 4 Blue-winged Teal were on Loch na Paisg, Baleshare this morning. A Lapland Bunting was near Rubh' Arnal and 8 pale-bellied Brent Geese were there. A juvenile Iceland Gull was on Loch Sandary. The 2 Cackling Geese were seen at Loch Paible.
South Uist: A Crossbill and a Blackcap were at Druidibeg. An Iceland Gull was at Grogarry, on the loch by Kinloch B&B. The juvenile American Golden Plover, Pectoral Sandpiper and Ruff were on the Range at LA2. The female Scaup is on Loch Bee.
Barra: 12 Yellow-browed Warblers, 2 Siberian Chiffchaffs and 3 Pied Flycatchers were seen today.
Insects: A Dark Sword-grass and 2 Angle Shades were nectaring on Buddleia in South Glendale last night.

11th October:
Lewis: A Yellow-browed Warbler, 100+ Redwings and 7 Blackcaps were in Skigersta. 2 Yellow-browed Warblers, a Pied Flycatcher, 5 Blackcaps and a Chiffchaff were in Port of Ness.
North Uist: A Yellow-browed Warbler was at Clachan Sands. 2 Blue-winged Teal were seen on Loch Mor and 2 Lapland Buntings were in Baleshare. The juvenile Little Stint is still at Loch Paible and the 2 Cackling Geese were also seen along with a Glaucous Gull. 2 Lapland Buntings and a Ruff were on the machair at Paiblesgarry. A Yellow-browed Warbler was seen at Scotvein, Grimsay this afternoon.
South Uist: The Pectoral Sandpiper was seen at LA2 on the Range. A Yellow-browed Warbler was in South Glendale today. The juvenile American Golden Plover was near LA2 on the Range mid-afternoon. A Yellow-browed Warbler was at Druidibeg and another was at Howmore. 48 Whooper Swans were at the south-west end of Loch Bee.
Barra: 60 Black-throated Divers were seen off Vatersay.
Marine Sightings: 20 White-beaked Dolphins and 3 Risso's Dolphins were seen off Skigersta.
Otters (Steve Duffield); Yellow-browed Warbler (John Kemp)
10th October:
Lewis: A Yellow-brosed Warbler and Lapland Bunting were seen in Skigersta. 3 Sooty Shearwaters and 5 Manx Shearwaters flew past the butt. 2 Ruff were at Loch Stiapabhat.
North Uist: 40 Barnacle Geese flew south over Carinish at 09:30. 2 Cackling Geese (same birds as last winter) with 2,000+ Barnacle Geese at Loch Paible; also juvenile Little Stint and 8 Lapland Buntings there. A Yellow-browed Warbler, 2 Chiffchaffs (1 a probable Siberian form call), Brambling and 3 Siskins were at Lanagss Lodge. A Yellow-browed Warbler was seen at Borve, Berneray. 4 Blue-winged Teal were reported from Loch Mor, Baleshare at 12:15. 2 Lapland Buntings and 600 Barnacle Geese were on Baleshare.
Benbecula: A Ruff was at Loch Mor.
South Uist: The juvenile American Golden Plover was near on the Range near LA3. A female Scaup was at the south-west end of Loch Bee. A Yellow-browed Warbler, Pied Flycatcher, Blackcap, Chiffchaff and Willow Warbler were at Druidibeg.3 Lapland Buntings were on Bornish machair. 150 Pink-footed Geese flew south at Smerclate at 12:50 whilst 13 Barnacle Geese flew north and 4 Brent Geese were on the shore. A Yellow-browed Warbler was still in Bornish.
Barra: 16 Yellow-browed Warblers, a Hawfinch and 2 Pied Flycactchers were seen on the island today.

9th October:
Lewis: 4 Yellow-browed Warblers, a Willow Warbler, Pied Flycatcher, 2 Blackcaps and 5 Bramblings were in Port of Ness. A Yellow-browed Warbler was in Skigertsa, also 6 Whooper Swans came in off the sea there. 2 Yellow-browed Warblers and a Garden Warbler were in South Dell. A Spotted Flycatcher and 2 Blackcaps were at Eoropie.
North Uist: At least 1 Yellow-browed Warbler is in Grenitote. A Turtle Dove was at Paiblesgarry. The Little Egret was at Trumisgarry. A Yellow-browed Warbler was seen at Lag Gorm, Baleshare.
South Uist: A Lapland Bunting was at Aird Mhichael; also 47 Barnacle Geese flew south. A Red-breasted Flycatcher, Pied Flycatcher, 6 Yellow-browed Warbler, 3 Blackcaps and 20 Bramblings were at North Loch Eynort; also 32 Whooper Swans flew south there in the morning. A Grey Wagtail was also seen at Loch Eynort in the afternoon. 2 Yellow-browed Warblers, a Pied Flycatcher, Willow Warbler, 2 Chiffchaff, a Blackcap and 3 Brambling were at Druidibeg. The juvenile American Golded Plover was on the Range at West Gerinish and a Ruff was at LA2. A Pied Flycatcher is in Askernish. 34 Whooper Swans dropped in to Loch Bee over Ardnamonie this evening. A Yellow-browed Warbler, Willow Warbler, 2 Blackcaps and 2 Bramblings were in Bornish, Another 48 Whooper Swans flew south-east over Loch Eynort late in the afternoon.
Barra: 20 Yellow-browed Warblers, 5 Pied Flycatcher and a Siberian Chiffchaff were seen on the island today.
American Golden Plover (Steve Duffield)
8th October:
Lewis: A Yellow-browed Warbler and Pied Flycatcher were in Port of Ness; also 20 Bramblings. 115 Barnacle Geese flew south over the Butt this morning.
North Uist: 2 Yellow-browed Warblers, a Chiffchaff, 2 Blackcaps and a Brambling were at Langass Lodge; also 46 Barnacle Geese flew south there. 22 Whooper Swans were resting on the sand at Lag Gorm, Baleshare. A Lapland Bunting was seen at Balranald and 134 Barnacle Geese flew south. 2 Yellow-browed Warblers were at Callernish House. 3 Yellow-browed Warblers and a Blackcap were at Claddach Konckline; also 1,500 Barnacle Geese flew south. 27 Whooper Swans flew south over Grimsay this evening and others were heard after dark over Carinish.
Benbecula: A Yellow-browed Warbler was by the roadside at Borve. Another Yellow-browed Warbler was calling in Balivanich and 44 Barnacle Geese flew south there this morning.
South Uist: A juvenile Iceland Gull was at Ardivachar. 4 Yellow-browed Warblers, a Pied Flycatcher, Blackcap and 10 Bramblings were at North Loch Eynort; also 150 Barnacle Geese flew south-east there. A Yellow-browed Warbler, Pied Flycatcher and 2 Blackcaps are in Askernish; also 77 Barnacle Geese south there. A Yellow-browed Warbler was in Howmore. A Pectoral Sandpiper was on the Range at LA2. A Pied Flycatcher was at Druidibeg. A Yellow-browed Warbler and a Willow Warbler were seen in Bornish.
Barra: A White's Thrush was at Gleann briefly mid-morning; also a Hawfinch.

Lewis: A Yellow-browed Warbler, Pied Flycatcher and a Blackcap were in Port of Ness today.
North Uist: A Buff-bellied Pipit was at Rubh' Arnal this morning; also 2 Lapland Buntings and a Jack Snipe there. At least 1 Yellow-browed Warbler is still in Carinish. A Reed Warbler was seen at Clachan Farm; also a Yellow-browed Warbler, Redstart and Blackcap.
Benbecula: 2 Yellow-browed Warblers were at Liniclate; also 3 Brambling. 2 Yellow-browed Warblers were in Torlum
South Uist: 5 Yellow-browed Warblers, a Pied Flycatcher 2 Blakcaps, a Chiffchaff, 3 Crossbills and 3 Brambling were at Druidibeg. 3 Yellow-browed Warblers and a Pied Flycatcher were in Askernish. 3 Yellow-browed Warblers, Spotted Flycatcher, 2 Bramblings, a Willow Warbler and 2 Blackcaps were in Bornish.
Barra: Around 30 Yellow-browd Warblers were on the island today; also 4 Pied Flycatchers and 10 Bramblings.

6th October:
Lewis: A Turtle Dove was at Tobson, Great Bernera. A Pied Flycatcher and Brambling were at Valasay.
North Uist: At least 4 Yellow-browed Warblers, a Brambling and a Fieldfare were in Carinish this morning. 4 Yellow-browed Warblers were at Claddach Baleshare. 5 Yellow-browed Warblers, 2 Chiffchaff and a Brambling were at Langass Lodge. 2 Yellow-browed Warblers were at Langass Wood. A Yellow-browed Warbler was at Baymore, Grimsay.
Benbecula: 3 Yellow-browed Warblers and a Blackcap were east side of Torlum.
South Uist: A Yellow-browed Warbler and a Willow Warbler were at Howmore. The Great Crested Grebe was off Balgarva; 30 Pink-footed Geese and 10 Whooper Swans flew east to the north of there too. A Yellow-browed Warbler was at Ardkenneth and another was near North Bay (Mol Mor). 40 Barancle Geese flew south at Ardivachar. The juvenile American Golden Plover was still at the south-west end of Loch Bee. 6 Yellow-browed Warblers, a Pied Flycatcher, Chiffchaff and a Blackcap were at Druidibeg. 5 Yellow-browed Warblers, a Pied Flycatcher, 2 Bramblings and 2 Blackcaps were in Askernish. 4 Yellow-browed Warblers were in Loch Eynort; also a Crossbill there. 5 Yellow-browed Warblers and 2 Blackcaps were at Loch Skipport. A Yellow-browed Warbler was at Grogarry. 3 Yellow-browed Warblers were at Gerinish. Another Yellow-browed Warbler was seen near Balgarva. 2 Yellow-browed Warblers, a Chiffchaff and 4 Bramblings were in South Glendale. 3 Yellow-browed Warblers, 3 Blackcaps, a Willow Warbler, a Spotted Flycatcher and a Brambling were in Bornish. At Howmore / Howbeg 5 Yellow-browed Warblers, a Willow Warbler, 2 Blackcaps and a Hawfinch which flew off to the south-east this morning.
Barra: A Little Bunting was seen briefly at Eoligarry church this afternoon; also 24 Yellow-browed Warblers and a Pied Flycatcher.
Insects: A Setaceous Hebrew Chracater, 2 Silver Y and 2 Brindled Ochre were caught in Carinish last night.

Lewis: A Yellow-browed Warbler was at Portvoller. 3 Jack Snipe were at the Butt. A Yellow-browed Warbler, Chiffchaff, 2 Blackcaps, a Spotted Flycatcher and 2 Pied Flycatchers were in port of Ness. 2 Yellow-browed Warblers, 2 Chiffchaff, 2 Willow Warblers, 4 Blackcaps, a Garden Warbler, Barred Warbler and a Brambling were in South Dell.
North Uist: 5 Yellow-browed Warblers are in Carinish. 2 Yellow-browed Warblers are at Claddach Baleshare. A Yellow-browed Warbler was on Baleshare and 130 Barnacle Geese were on the sands off Lag Gorm. 6 Yellow-browed Warblers and a Blackcap were at Knockintorran. A Yellow-browed Warbler was by Loch Sandary. At least 9 Yellow-browed Warblers, a Blackcap and 10 Bramblings are in Lochmaddy. 350 Barnacle Geese are at Loch Paible. A Redstart was at Paiblesgarry and a Yellow-browed Warbler and a Lapland Bunting were in the Paible area. A Yellow-browed Warbler was at Clachan. A Jack Snipe, a Chiffchaff and a Crossbill were seen at Langass. 8 Yellow-browed Warbler and a Chiffchaff were at Locheport.
Benbecula: 7 Black-tailed Godwits were in Stinky Bay. 2 Ruff were at Borve. A Yellow-browed Warbler was in a garden near Creagorry today.
South Uist: A Yellow-browed Warbler was in the reeds at Kilaulay. 2 Yellow-browed Warblers were at Howmore. 4 Yellow-browed Warblers, a Chiffchaff, 2 Brambling and 6 Siskin were at North Loch Eynort. 3 Yellow-browed Warblers are at South Loch Eynort. A Great Crested Grebe was off Balgarva. 7 Yellow-browed Warblers, a Chiffchaff and Willow Warbler were at Druidibeg. 17 Whooper Swans were at Grogarry. An American Golden Plover is at thesouth-west corner of Loch Bee. A Spotted Redshank was seen at Balgarva this evening. A Pied Flycatcher, Yellow-browed Warbler and a Willow Warbler were in Askernish. 12 Brent Geese and 5 Barnacle Geese were off Hebridean Jewellery. 2 Yellow-browed Warblers and 4 Brambling were at Carnan. A Yellow-browed Warbler was at Snisihval. A Yellow-browed Warbler and 4 Bramblings are in South Glendale. A Curlew Sandpiper was at Ardvule; also 25 Barnacle Geese flew south there. A Hawfinch appeared at Carnan at 18:20 (same place as yesterday). 3 Yellow-browed Warblers, a Blackcap and a Spotted Flycatcher were in Bornish.
Barra: At least 50 Yellow-browed Warblers were on the island today; also 2 Pied Flycatchers and 10 Crosbills.

Lewis: 150 Barnacle Geese flew south and 35 Pink-footed Geese flew north in the Valtos area. A Yellow-browed Warbler was at Reef.
North Uist: 2 Yellow-browed Warblers are in Carinish. 2 Yellow-browed Warblers are at Scotvein, Grimsay. A Yellow-browed Warbler was at Clachan na Luib. 4 Blue-winged Teal were seen at Loch na Paisg, Baleshare again today.
Benbecula: At least 4 Yellow-browed Warblers are at Torlum. 2 Yellow-browed Warblers and a Willow Warbler were at Dunganachy.
South Uist: 4 A Hawfinch and 2 Bramblings were at Carnan. Yellow-browed Warblers, Blackcap and Spotted Flycatcher were on Bornish; also a few Bramblings and Redwings. A Yellow-browed Warbler was heard at Loch Eynort. 7 Yellow-browed Warblers were at Druidibeg. A Yellow-browed Warbler was at Grogarry Lodge. A Yellow-browed Warbler and Brambling were in South Glendale. A juvenile Curlew Sandpiper was in the south bay at Ardvule.
Barra: 2 Blue-winged Teal were at Eoligarry again today. 20 Yellow-browed Warblers, a Ring Ouzel and Pied Flycatcher were also seen.
3rd October:
Lewis: 2 Yellow-browed Warblers were seen in Keose. 7 Yellow-browed Warblers were seen between Port of Ness and South Dell. A Pied Flycatcher was also in Port of Ness and a Common Swift flew south there late morning. 12 Whooper Swans were at Loch Stiapabhat this afternoon. The 1st winter Woodchat Shrike is still at Bragar; a juvenile Glaucous Gull was aslo present.
St. Kilda: The female Snowy Owl is still on Hirta.
North Uist: At least 45 Yellow-browed Warblers were seen in North Uist today (2 in Carinish, 3 at Claddach Baleshare, 2 at Clachan, 1 at Claddach Kirkibost, 2 along the Committee Road, 3 at Claddach Vallay, 8 at Callernish plus another in nettles to the west of there; 1 along the main road at Scolpaig, 4 in Butterbut along the roadside at Balelone, 1 was Tigharry, 2 were in Hougarry, 1 was at Paiblesgarry, 5 were at knockintorran, 1 was at Claddach Cnoc a Lin, 1 was at Grenitote and 6 were at Clachan Farm, 1 at Scotvein, Grimsay).
Other sightings in North Uist: 8 Redwings and a Brambling were in Carinish this morning; also 380+ Barnacle Geese south there between 08:00 - 08:30. 120 Barnacle Gees flew south from Baleshare mid-morning. 240 Barnacle Geese and a Lapland Bunting were at Lag Gorm, Baleshare and 4 Blue-winged Teal were seen on Loch na Paisg. 4 Bramblings were at Clachan. A Spotted Flycatcher and 2 Blackcaps were at Claddach Vallay. A Spotted Flycatcher was at Callernish House. A Fieldfare was near Loch Sandary. A Lesser Whitethroat, Willow Warbler and a Ruff were at Clachan Farm. 490 Barnacle Geese were by Loch Bhrusda, Berneray today.
Benbecula: 9 Yellow-browed Warblers were seen with 7 at Torlum and 2 in Liniclate.
South Uist: 27 Yellow-browed Warblers were seen today (4 at North Loch Eynort, 4 at South Loch Eynort, 8 at Druidibeg, 2 at Kinlcoh, Grogarry, 3 at Snishival, 4 in Bornish, 1 at Gorgarry Lodge and 1 in South Glendale).
Other sightings: A Hawfinch, Blackcap, 10 Bramblings and 17 Redwings were at North Loch Eynort; also 150 Barnacle Geese south over there. 12 Brent Geese were off Hebridean Jewellery. A Chiffchaff was at Druidibeg. 10 Bramblings and 12 Redwings were in South Glendale. 26 Barnacle Geese flew south at Ardvule this morning. A Willow Warbler, Blackcap and Spotted Flycatcher were in Bronish.
Barra: 94 Yellow-browed Warblers, 2 Pied Flycatchers, a Hawfinch and a Ring Ouzel were seen on the island today.

Lewis: A 1st winter Woodchat Shrike was seen on the cemetery wall in Bragar this afternoon. 5 Yellow-browed Warblers were in Port of Ness; also a Lesser Whitethroat there. A Tree Pipit was at the Butt and a Swift flew east past there at 15:40. 140 Barnacle Geese and 95 Pink-footed Geese flew south-east over the Butt.
North Uist: A Yellow-browed Warbler, Chiffchaff, Blackcap and Brambling were at Langass Lodge this morning. 4 Blue-winged Teal are still at Loch Mor, Baleshare. A Yellow-browed Warbler was by the last house just before Lag Gorm, Baleshare and 353 Barnacle Geese were resting there. 6 Yellow-browed Warblers, a Chiffchaff, Spotted Flycatcher, 3 Bramblings and 7 Redwings were at Callernish House. A Long-eared Owl was in Carinish (possible migrant). Hundreds of Barnacle Geese were resting on the beach at Grenitote this afternoon.
South Uist: 16 Barnacle Geese flew north over Boisdale mid morning. A Yellow-browed Warbler is in Askernish; also a Scaup and 5 Pink-footed Geese by the golf club. 3+ Yellow-browed Warblers a Willow Warbler and Brambling were at North Loch Eynort. 2 Yellow-browed Warblers and a Brambling were at Druidibeg. 4 Bramblings were in South Glendale today. 150 Barnacle Geese flew south past Stoneybridge late this afternoon.
Barra: 35+ Yellow-browed Warblers were seen on the island today; also a Ring Ouzel and Pied Flycatcher.
Insects: The Hummingbird Hawkmoth was still in Boisdale today and trying to get in the house!

Lewis: A Yellow-browed Warbler was in Port of Ness. A Turtle Dove was seen on the road to Valtos. 2 Yellow-browed Warblers were in North Tolsta.
Harris A Yellow-browed Warbler was seen in Northton (by the cafe).
North Uist: The Booted Warbler was showing at Callernish House; also 2 Yellow-browed Warblers there. At least 1 Lapland Bunting and a juvenile Little Stint were at Loch Paible. 3 Pink-footed Geese were with Greylags by Loch Sandary. A juvenile American Golden Plover was on the east side of Lag Gorm, Baleshare; also a Jack Snipe there and 31 Barnacle Geese south. 2 Curlew Sandpipers were also on the beach at Baleshare early afternoon. 3 Crossbills were at Langass.
South Uist: 5 Whooper Swans dropped in at Ardnamonie late afternoon. 15 Whooper Swans flew south over Boisdale this evening.
Barra: 5 Yellow-browed Warblers were on the island today.
Insects: A Hummingbird Hawkmoth was seen in Boisdale this evening.
